About Finance with Finesse
At Finance with Finesse, I am Joe Shaw, an adept accountant with a passion for exploring the uncharted territories of cybersecurity. Through a combination of financial acumen, programming skills, and a digital mindset, I curate a unique portfolio that showcases my expertise in finance and technology.
I started 2 weeks ago frustrated with job hunting and started looking more closely at the job postings and realized that most positions in this field do the same tasks in most cases. That being said, I decided that I needed to do something other than just look at financial statements and bank reconciliation work-papers. I came up with an idea to create a computer lab at home and learn a new skill while utilizing my current skills. I created some virtual machines running Linux and windows. The story I have created is a snatch and grab operation where I need to figure out how to penetrate a given system housing secret financial data and with my finance knowledge, communicate that to the responsible parties in a way they can understand. Currently, I have created my virtual machines and in the process of hardening the defense on the target machine.
